Having faith in the future can be a difficult thing to attain.  Sometimes when things are not going the way we expect them to or when things get hard, we can lose a bit of faith.  Sometimes our fears are much greater than our belief that things are going to work out well.  I know I've felt this way about different parts of my life.  We get distracted by how life is "supposed to be" that we forget to listen to our hearts.  Sometimes when life gets hard we want to give up, that's when faith comes in.  Faith gives us the courage to move forward with uncertainty.

In our willingness to go into the unknown we open ourselves up to a field of possibilities.  Free yourself from the stories your mind creates; it takes courage to surrender to uncertainty.  It takes faith to open our deepest desires to uncertainty. Even though uncertainty is unsettling it is the greatest source of our greatest joy.

Out of all the ideas I've learned through out all my meditations, this one underlying theme stays true...
"Our heart is the most trustworthy guidance system."
There seems to be a constant struggle between heart and mind. When we choose guidance of our mind over our heart, there seems to be struggle, obstacles that hinder our growth, obstacles that make life just a bit harder to live.  When we try to control too much, or think too much about how to live our lives instead of just living them, life seems to be much harder.

It seems counter-intuitive: less planning and control of our life leads to struggle vs. letting go and following our hearts that everything will work itself out when we live with love but it really does seem to work this way.

It's worked for me in my work, I used to stress about where my next job was coming from but as soon as I let go and trusted that this Universe will keep me employed, I have been very happily employed. I know and understand it's really hard not to stress out and have apprehensions about the future (trust me, I really understand) and it definitely takes a lot of strength to relinquish power to the unknown but it will work out when we follow our hearts.  It's also a lot more fun to live life enjoying what we do and who we do it with.  Our lives are made up of the days and who wants to look back on our lives thinking about what we could have done instead of just doing them.

This week's mindful moment is a reminder that we create our reality. We are the masters of our lives; our lives are not predetermined. We have the power to create our lives the way we want them, as long as we are open and receptive to the uncertainty of the path.

We hold the strength in our hearts and our spirits to live full lives, without fear holding us back, without excuses and without the ideas of "supposed to be's" we create our happiness with good intentions leading the way.

What does your heart desire? Dream of your joyful future.

Italiano Food and Doggies

If you know anything about me, you know I love food and doggies, and yes I call them doggies. I took a lot of photos in Italy and I saw a lot of beautiful buildings, people, historic sightings but nothing thrills me like delicious food and dog sightings any where I am, so here's what I ate and some of the doggies I saw.

I ate so much, and I made a point to overeat. I ate pasta every chance I got, my favorite was the Carbonara in Rome...particularly the place we ate the first night we got in.  My favorite gelato was in Rome by the Pantheon (I think that's where it was).  This was also the place I spotted the one cute boy in all of Italy eating gelato.  Yum, double time. At the gelato place near the colleseo, the guy serving us was determined to get a kiss from Audrey before he would serve her some Mentha gelato. Haha, it was hilarious to see him flirting with her. We were about to get out of there without paying because he liked Audrey but his boss was there and made us pay, oh well!
One memorable treat in Venice were the cannolis, Audrey had chocolate and I had regular cream....the shell was so crispy and the center was so creamy.  I've had my fair share of creamy horns which are similar (yes that sounds a little sexual but I promise that's what these pastries are called), usually sold at Chinese bakeries I guess that's the Asian version of an Italian cannoli.  But man oh man the cannoli was perfect. I love juxtaposition of crispy and creamy, slightly salty and sweet.
Can't forget the made to order crepes we had for breakfast at the Palazzo Paruta, soft crepe shell, nutella, bananas, topped with powdered sugah...Ahhhh. I want another one. I don't really like sweets but the sweets in Italy were not the same kind of sweet as here in the US, also I was trying to fatten myself up so I ate a lot of things and pretty much everything that was offered to me.

As for the doggies, I love doggies and took so many pictures but they were usually running or walking away from me.  I'm PUPsessed. =)

Passion is the energy that fuels our spirits.  Passion for our work, for family, for fun activities, for lovers, passion drives us to do things and believe in things that may sometimes seem impossible, but with passion anything is possible.  Now I'm not saying if you have a passion to be a singer, and you cannot carry a melody, passion will not make you a singer.  But you could definitely be involved in the music industry.  Passion doesn't recognize labels, failures, or successes, as long as you live with passion you are achieving your best life.

Passion is the fire the lights up our spirits, it gives us the power to do things that may seem out of character but it's really our hearts truest desires, it's the courage that fuels us to take chances and live fully.

What are you passionate about?  What and who excites you and when you do and are with them, time seems to stop and you forget all your worries?  That's your passion! Writing? Painting? Music? Best friend? Mom? Brother? Lover?

Now is the time to let go of your inhibitions and live passionately!
